Cliford Zulu was born in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. He later trained as a sculptor at Mzilikazi Art Center and worked as a freelance artist in and out Zimbabwe. In 2006 Zulu joined the National Gallery of Zimbabwe as Visual Arts Development Officer, he is now Assistant Curator in Bulawayo Gallery and Chairman of the Visual Artists Association of Bulawayo. In Italy in 2011, Zulu was a Curatorial Intern at the 54th Venice Biennale Zimbabwe Pavilion. He participated in the Goethe Moving Africa Program, 10th Dak’Art Biennale in Dakar, Senegal 2012 as well as the Popty Bach visual artists workshop in Wales in 2013.
