Nana Oforiatta-Ayim


Nana Oforiatta Ayim is a writer, filmmaker and cultural historian. She has an MA in African Art History and is completing a PhD in African Languages and Cultures at the University of London. She has created books and films for exhibitions at The New Museum, New York; Neue Gesellschaft für Bildende Kunst, Berlin; LIAF, Lofoten; Stavanger Kunsthall, Stavanger; and The Museum of African Diaspora, San Francisco; and has written for publications, like African Metropolitan Architecture, The National Geographic, frieze, and The Statesman. In 2002, she set up the cultural research platform ANO (, which has produced exhibitions, events, workshops and discussions at venues like KNUST, The Victoria and Albert Museum, The Royal Festival Hall and The Liverpool Biennial and is now based in Accra, Ghana.
