Ruth Ademasu was born in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia in 1983 and graduated from AAU School of Fine Arts and Design in Industrial Design in 2007. She then took a one-year photography course with Desta for Africa (DFA). She is an Ethiopian multimedia visual artist and photographer. In her work, she experiments and limitlessly explores new media and techniques to create a new dimension of visual arts. She paints, designs, and makes installations. Her current work deals with daily life, globalization, feminine beauty, and women’s cosmetic issues. Ruth has participated in different local and international art exhibitions and workshops. Ruth was teaching Computer Graphics for two and half years in a private college and following that, she taught Art for children for five years in an international school in Addis. Since 2004, she has been exhibiting her work in different galleries and Cultural centers in Addis Ababa and Berlin, Germany. Currently, she is working as a studio artist while studying for an MA at Alle School of Fine Art and Design.
