Valerie Kabov is the Director of Education and International Projects at First Floor Gallery Harare, Zimbabwe, which she co-founded in 2009. Valerie is a doctoral candidate at University of Paris 1, Sorbonne in Art History (Cultural Policy and Cultural Economics), she holds a Masters in Curatorship and Modern Art from University of Sydney, as well as Bachelor of Law and Bachelor of Economics from University of Melbourne. As researcher and educator, she has focused particularly on nexus between audiences, policy, and the art market in a localised and globalisation, as well as developing exhibitions, projects and alternative organisational models, which are situated in and are responsive to localised context. Valerie is also the founder of Art & Dialogue a professional continuing education programme for based curators and cultural practitioners focusing at building skills in engaging diverse/multi-cultural audiences with art and using art as a platform for intercultural dialogue.
